WiFi cutting out

  1. Anyone’s WiFi keep cutting out? The light in the middle keeping going off then orange and flashing, Now tv aren’t being helpful and sent us a new box but it’s still doing it and it takes over an hour to speak to someone, many people are having this issue too but no answers

You won't get any form of staff giving updates on here in relation to broadband. It has never happened in my time of using the forum.

Below are some standard things you can and probably have done before calling the team.

Have you done a factory reset to the router indicated in the link below?

This link also shows any planned outages as well wide spread faults.

You need to call the broadband team. See link for number.

FYI that I do not work for NOW, just a NOW customer trying to help

Is this the WiFi, or the Internet that issue cutting out?

The two are very different things, and it's important to understand this when trouble shooting 


If it's WiFi, then your devices will not connect or will drop the connection 

if Internet then the WiFi will be fine, and you will be able to connect to the WiFi network, and other devices on the network, not the wider internet

Which if it’s not a faulty router (and I don’t know why Now sending a replacement counts as ‘not being helpful’), is a line fault that @Jacjacou should report to Now, so that they can get Openreach to investigate it and address it.


Set a Payment PIN on your account so that no-one but you can buy memberships on it. Check your bank accounts monthly for any other unexpected payments to Now. That way you can at least nip them in the bud, while you and Now figure out whose fault they are.
