1. Take up a new sport

You might live in one of the sunniest places on earth, but that doesn’t mean you can’t drive a bobsleigh in the winter Olympics! Cool Runnings taught us that no matter how unlikely it might seem, you can take up any sport you want.

2. Take up a new hobby

Admittedly Phil has somewhere between 10 and 10,000 years (depending on who you listen to) learning his new skills on Groundhog Day but I think there’s a lesson to be learned: you can be good at anything if you just keep trying for long enough. So, get out your chainsaw and head to a giant ice block and you’ll be sculpting Angels in no time!

3. Try to be a better person

Now I know that you are already an awesome person, aren’t we all, but there is always room for a little improvement. How would you cope if you had to tell the truth, the whole truth and nothing but the truth for 24 hours, no matter how brutal that was? Easy, right? Jim Carrey  gives it a go in Liar Liar – fancy trying it, too?

4. Join a club

Feel like you’re in a rut? Need to get out more? Or, if you’re in Anna Kendrick’s position, want to be allowed to leave college? Join a club! Aca-choirs are all the rage these days; first there was Glee and now there’s Pitch Perfect – if this doesn’t inspire you to get out your hairbrush and start singing, nothing will!

5. Get a new job

You might think that finding a new job is a long and arduous task; not so, if you’re Jack Black. He goes from couch potato to teacher/rock star in one easy phone call. Want to find his secret? Just watch School of Rock! (*disclaimer – NOW TV does not recommend that this is how you should get a new job)

6. Appreciate your family more

Chances are you’ve just spent the best part of a week cooped up with your family and you may be feeling slightly less than charitable towards each other. Still, it’s important to appreciate your family, and it’s probably a good idea to start doing it now before you open your next fortune cookie and wake up the next morning having swapped bodies with your mother to teach you a lesson. Don’t say we didn’t warn you. Check out Freaky Friday to make sure it doesn’t happen to you! 😉

7. Dare to be different

You might be a vampire, or a skeleton, or a monster, or a plain old human; but that’s OK – we can still all get along! Head down to Hotel Transylvania for some inter-species fun!
