NowTV box will not connect to local network?

ISP - Virgin Media

Router - Super Hub 2

Yes, i'm selecting the correct router from the wireless list.

Yes, i have SSID enabled.

Yes, i have more than 3 signal bars.

No, my wireless does not require a username to log in.

I've tried disabling my Firewall on router, disabling WPS, changing wireless password.

The first light goes green when connecting. My Router also shows that the box is connected. However, it is not conencted because i recieve an error message when it fails to connect to my local network?

Re: NowTV box will not connect to local network?

Do you get error code 14? If you do then you can try the following which may resolve the problem:

Using the Now TV box remote, press the following buttons in order:

Home Button 5 times
FF 1 time
Play 1 time
RW 1 time
Play 1 time
FF 1 time

In the menu that appears select 'Disable network pings'

Re: NowTV box will not connect to local network?

My Now TV box wouldn't connect to my bt home hub 3 router, got error code 014. Tried disable network pings, didn't work for me. Had to go into my advanced settings, you need port forwarding option, find your device and click apply. Worked a treat...

Re: NowTV box will not connect to local network?

@Nutsaboutmints Can you clarify exactly which port forwarding options you used please? i.e. which "Game or application" service did you choose for the Now TV device?

Thanks,

Mike

Re: NowTV box will not connect to local network?

I am having same problem, wasted a day trying various options. Error code 014 and then can't connect to your local network message. Have done all that is suggested in any forum advice, but still same problem. My son managed to connect all the way through using his iPhone service instead of the house router.
Where do you get assistance from Sky on this, supposedly a chat service but I can't locate it, sent an email yesterday and have had no reply.
My ISP is Virgin but the router is Netgear and it works with every other device in the house.
Help!!!!!!!!!!!

Re: NowTV box will not connect to local network?

@EmBee Hi there,if you've tried the solutions and still cannot get this to work you may have a faulty NOW TV Box.

You can return the Box if all else fails and we can give you a shiny new one?

Re: NowTV box will not connect to local network?

Char-A,

Tried all these and more since post. Reset router to factory settings, altered security settings etc.

It is a bit of  a nightmare, round  and around din circles with no solution, meantime my passes are running down on time with no use being made of them.

Question is if faulty, why is it working when connected to my son's iPhone?

Also, please confirm like to online Chat or has the service been removed, because I can't find it where described in the help section, no options come up for Chat.

I would like to hear your answers but if you can send a new box meantime.

Thanks.
