As the purple screen only recently happened or has it been occurring since you have owned the nowtv white box connected to the same TV ?
What's the make & model of your TV, does the purple screen appear on your TV screen each day or occasionally overtime ?
If it happens every day, just for testing purposes have you got another TV in the house with a HDMI port just to see if the purple screen appears on your second TV, this would then point the problem with the box and not your main TV.
Also, a bit of a long shot you could try a forced software update on the box by pressing the keys on the remote controller in the following sequence Home button x 5, >> button x 3, << button x 2.
