Morning,
I think something missing!!!
Like other provider such as Netflix, they offer movies with subtitle at a lower price!
Now TV should be able to offer that service for must of their movies and, this should normally help deaf people watching films...
Thanks,
Guy
I have read through threads on this community dating back over 7 months regarding this, and I'm shocked that subtitles are unavailable still. It's a fundamental part of a paid content delivery service such as this. If you want to compete with Netflix, and even LoveFilm, experience is still king over available content. Please can you make subtitles a priority. As such, I don't consider this an idea, but common sense.
For a legitimate idea, I'd love it if you could pause/restart video with the Spacebar. I watch NowTV using my Mac, and this would be really convenient, instead of having to fiddle with the mouse to locate the pause button. (Netflix has this feature already, and it is extremely convenient!).
Can you put on subtitles please for films they are a really useful and I am a quite disappointed that Now Tv don't have them still ...
Hi aliens1090,
Thanks for the posts.
At this current time subtitles are not available as part of the service.
Many Thanks
Pete
NOW TV Team
I have to say I'm staggered and quite annoyed to find that there are no subtitles on Now TV. I didn't even think to check before signing up as this seems beyond obvious for a large provider such as Sky to implement from the outset.
Tom-R said on 07-05-2013 "I appreciate there's lots of interest in us making subtitles available, but unfortunately it's not something that's simple for us to implement, and so there's no quick fix. "
Well tough. If you want to charge £15 per month for a service it had better be up to scratch. If the service is unfinished (as it clearly is) provide free or reduced-price beta-testing access until it's ready. Subtitles are not a luxury addition; they are a requirement. I will certainly cancel my subscription to this service until subtitles are introduced.
By the way I don't have any hearing impairment, I just enjoy watching films more with subtitles. I think it's a reaction to Christian Bale's Batman voice. Anyway, I know several other people like myself who simply find films more enjoyable with subs. So you're actually putting off an even larger group of people than you thought Sky.
Hiya
My preferences...
Now TV Service-
Now TV Box-
Rather than just moan about what could be improve, I'd like to give complements too, about the box-
Another box on order. Now TV service bought. Recommended to my parents, who've also bought a box and signed up to the service. Has viral potential (as long as you manage to keep offers going on the price 'til it's ubiquitous or you address the unrealistic long-term full price.)
Congrats! 🙂

Need them. Can't believe they haven't been implemented yet.
What do you mean you "do have the option"? How do I activate this?
I have a deaf step daughter! So we are unable to sit down and watch a family movie together when using a streaming service!
And putting it in place now would put you in a much stronger position than Lovefilm & Netflix who also do not have subtitles!
I purchased the Now TV box for £9.99. Got it all set up and sat down to watch a film with my partner who is deaf in one ear and very hard of hearing. Only to find there is no subtitle options, nowhere upon purchasing this product or during the signup process does it state that the product/service is not suitable for deaf or hard of hearing customers. Has NowTv /SKY not heard of service provision responsibilities under the DDA (Disability Discrimination Act), how you have got away with this for so long is beyond me. Ive been looking through some of the posts and this has been going on for months and months, with someone saying its not available at present but we are looking into it.. Back to Netfix I think and throw the NOWTV to the back of the cupboard and possibly see if we can take this up with a law firm.
Get your act together SKY.
Hi RandomThoughts,
Sorry, it looks like that was a typo from Pete- he meant to say do "not".
Apologies,
Tom
