UPD port not working / firewall protections

I set up my NOW broadband a few days ago, and am now trying to connect Amazon Alexa devices to the network. The devices are not connecting to the wifi, and Amazon think it could be that NOW have put a firewall on my broadband. Is there a firewall protection on the account, and how can I turn it off? Thanks.

Hi @Anonymous User

I don't own any Amazon Alexa internet connected devices, but see if there is anything in this linked thread below regarding the Echo with NOW Broadband.

If no luck, perhaps type something like Alexa in the Community search box for more hit results, where somebody may have posted a solution or suggestions on what to try.

What is a UPD port?

At a guess, UDP.

Set a Payment PIN on your account so that no-one but you can buy memberships on it. Check your bank accounts monthly for any other unexpected payments to Now. That way you can at least nip them in the bud, while you and Now figure out whose fault they are.

Have a look into Broadband Buddy, and turn off anything that looks like it might be restricting things.

Sometimes the valuable protection that Broadband Buddy provides to the tyro can be a little overzealous.
