There are lots of reports of Now (and Sky) Broadband going down , this is due to some DNS issue .
To solve the issue go to your modem/routers setting page and find the entry under Primary and Secondary DNS settings and change the DNS setting to
(Google DNS)
Primary 8.8.8.8
Secondary 8.8.4.4
or OpenDNS
Primary: 208.67.222.222
Secondary: 208.67.220.220
Other DNS servers are also available
changing it is a simple process on routers, and if you have a connection but the internet isnt working then this simple fix should get things back online .
I'm using the Google DNS servers with my Now connection and havent (yet) had an outage
