Note, though, that there is an Italian offshoot of Now, with an entirely separate account, membership, and programmes setup, that you could subscribe to if you are going to be in Italy for any length of time.
Assuming you are fluent in Italian, or at least competent enough in it to find programmes you might want, with, hopefully, English subtitles, should you need them.
Set a Payment PIN on your account so that no-one but you can buy memberships on it.
Check your bank accounts monthly for any other unexpected payments to Now.
That way you can at least nip them in the bud, while you and Now figure out whose fault they are.
