Taking off Parental control

My uncle has BT with NOW and has dementia - he can’t do the buttons for the parental control  so cant watch most of the channels - weve taken it off BT so must be the NOW TV  - can it be taken off so he can watch his channels?

Parental control is an OfCom requirement for any channel that shows live post-watershed programming before the watershed, I believe.

So probably not.

But people with Now via BT TV should be supported by BT, and even have the luxury of a BT phone number they can ring for streaming support, so give that a call on behalf of your uncle, and get a definitive answer.

Failing that, and depending on exactly what the Parental PIN dialogue requirements are, you may be able to get him an OFA or Harmony remote you can program for a one-button code string for the parental PIN input.

Though swapping that in, in place of his BT remote, might bring issues of its own 😢

Set a Payment PIN on your account so that no-one but you can buy memberships on it.
Check your bank accounts monthly for any other unexpected payments to Now.
That way you can at least nip them in the bud, while you and Now figure out whose fault they are.
