Wifi changes without controller

Hi, hope someone can help.

I have recently had to update our wifi. I also have a faulty remote. I have been using my phone app to control my NOW TV stick for some months.

On the faulty remote, I have been on live chat with Roku agents and tried all the steps to get it to work, but it will not sync to the stick.

I was wondering if anyone new of a way of adding my now tv stick to my new wifi hub??? Or is there a way of getting the phone app to sync with the stick without wifi connected?

Thanks in advance.

Hi @jwdude13

Don't know if anything on my post in this similar linked thread helps.

Ask those Roku agents if the £19.99 Roku Voice Remote will serve as a replacement for the faulty Now remote:-

https://www.roku.com/en-gb/products/accessories/roku-voice-remote

Now Sticks are known not to work with the simple Roku Remote, but there is a strong chance that the Roku Voice Remote will be compatible.

Worth asking, anyway, if you would like to get back to a physical remote; and original Now remotes suitable for the Now Stick are going for silly money on Amazon or eBay.

Set a Payment PIN on your account so that no-one but you can buy memberships on it.
Check your bank accounts monthly for any other unexpected payments to Now.
That way you can at least nip them in the bud, while you and Now figure out whose fault they are.

Is you set up your new WiFi network with the same name (SSID) and password then your stick should connect as before.

On the remote, assume you've tried pairing just after the stick has powered on (within the first couple of minutes) by holding down the pairing button?

If you're looking at buying another remote, be aware there are different generations of Roku Voice Remotes  and only some are compatible with the NOW stick. You'd be best looking for a replacement from a NOW stick to be sure.

There’s something very odd going on in the Roku universe at present. None of the devices, Express or Stick, are available any more, and it’s been that way for a good few weeks now.

Yes, there were stock shortages following Black Friday and Christmas. Supply is now coming through again so this situation should improve quickly.

Very have the express for sale:

Amazon and Currys should be soon.
