Streaming with Samsung

I keep having streaming problems on the football my Internet is fine and I have just got the Now TV boost I never have trouble with the movies on now tv, it's getting very annoying as the picture is fine for ten minutes or so then its rubbish for 15 seconds I have a brand new Samsung tv any ideas please.

Quite a few people complain on the NOW Community Forum about the streaming reliability of Sky Sports or constant buffering or drop outs.

 

Personally i don't experience this myself watching Sky Sports on my NOW Boost Membership where the PQ is rock solid for me, where the majority of my devices are connected over Ethernet.

 

Perhaps try unplugging the power to your television and Router for a minute or if your Router or Samsung Smart TV can support Google DNS servers, then maybe try using the Google Public DNS servers instead of your ISP's.

Forgot to mention do you have another NOW supported playback device instead of the Samsung Smart TV NOW App to see if there is any improvement with the Sky Sports streams ?

 

Over on NOW Twitter last weekend, there was quite a few complaints by Sony PS4 / PS5 and Samsung Smart TV owners about the poor NOW Sky Sports Streams.

 

i don't own any of these above devices myself, so i don't know if NOW have resolved it or not.

 

The playback devices that i use, are Amazon Fire Stick, NOW Box, Youview Box and Roku Stick Plus without any issues when it comes to watching NOW Sky Sports.

Just to follow up from a key point that @schnapps mentioned, is your TV connected via Ethernet or Wi-fi?

I just had a quick look over on the NOW Twitter feed and there still seems to be an issue watching NOW Sky Sports on PS4 / PS5 and Samsung Smart TV's reading the last couple of tweets from customers in the last couple of hours today.

 

Can only suggest getting in touch with NOW live chat.

@Anonymous User i am having the same issue on my samsung smart tv regarding blurry pictures,i also have the boost and my tv is on a wired connection.

I find it very strange BBC iplayer Amazon prime Sky Movies all fine just live football that says to me it Now TV signal and needs sorting.

Same issues this now tv is so poor, football and F1 all blurry and unwatchable, all the advice you get is it’s the broadband!! I am on full fibre, sort this rubbish tv out

iam watching sky sports to all day getting buffering on my now tv stick on my samsung smart tv

It’s an on going issue with multiple devices with the sports streams on NOW.

 

My guess it’ll take some time for the issue to be resolved. 
Just keep pestering live chat for compensation etc.

iam getting buffering on all live tv on all passes lets hope it gets  fixed soon

It’s definitely been proven to be an issue with the sports streams only, best I can offer to keep checking for updates and reset your router from time to time.

Got this from NOW TV this afternoon. Haven't tried it yet ... was trying to watch the F1 through pixelations!!

 

Here goes ...

 

Refresh the internet on your TV

  1. Press the power off button on the remote
  2. Switch the TV off at the mains power, wait 10 seconds then switch it on again
  3. Press the power on button on the remote to turn the TV on again
  4. Press Menu on your Samsung remote and scroll to Network.
  5. Select Wireless as the Network Type.
  6. Select Network Setup.
  7. Choose Select a Network.
  8. Select your Network Name.
  9. Enter your WiFi password and press the Blue button on your Samsung remote.
  10. Your Samsung TV will attempt to connect to your In-home WiFi.
  11. When you're connected, select OK.

Restart the NOW app

  1. Hold the back button on your remote until it returns to the Home screen
  2. Relaunch the NOW app, this will restart it in the background

Follow the steps below to update the software on a Samsung TV.

  1. Press the Menu button on the remote control
  2. Scroll down and select Support
  3. Select Software Update
  4. Select Update now
  5. The TV will check to see if there is an update available. Select Yes to update the TV with the latest software version.

no buffering on sky sports all last week once more its back  this morning when i watch on my now tv stick on my samsung smart tv

Then I suggest giving it a go on the TV app, assuming your TV is connected via Ethernet?
