I'm considering committing to an F1 season pass, however due to being constantly away from home for work reasons, will be mostly watching the content on a Windows computer.
Since an F1 season pass costs a pretty penny and seeing as many people have reported reliability and performance issues with the Windows NowTV "app" (though I note not in the last few months), I would like to know what options I have at my disposal if it turns out that I experience similar issues? In particular, would I be able to cancel the pass and receive a full refund? This assumes a correctly configured computer (and OS) and stable fiber Internet connection (I'm a SW engineer by trade).
PS: I should know if the thing works correctly this Friday during the practice sessions.

Difficult to tell, some people have no trouble with the NOW TV Player app, others seem to have a lot of trouble. Not sure if you've already gone ahead and bought the F1 pass - if not it might be an idea to get a free trial of one of the other passes (assuming you've not had them already) so you can try it out for free (if you do go for a trial remember to cancel before the end so it doesn't auto-renew).
If you are using Windows 8.1/10 then if you do have problems with the NOW TV Player app you cantry the alternative which is to download the dedicated NOW TV app from the Windows Store and use that to watch instead

If you do find you have trouble watching though get in touch with NOW TV straight away either to try and solve the issue or to ask for a refund. You can send the NOW TV Team a message or get to live chat from the Contact Us page

No, haven't purchased it and will sign up for a free trial of one of the other passes as you suggested.
If, as you say, the NOW TV app from the Windows store is the alternative, where can I find the standard NOW TV Player app?

@migdsb OK so if you grab one of the free trials, you can start browsing for something to watch from the Menu in the top left corner- choose your pass, then you can browse/search for content.
When you choose something to watch you will see a play button and the first time you click it it should prompt you to install the NOW TV Player helper app. Once it's installed it will open automatically in the future when you click play.
If for some reason the Player doesn't install you can install it manually here
