On Sports channels picture freezes sound continues

While using a black Now TV box with a wired connection and a 200 Mbit connection I regularly get 2-3 second picture freezes while the sound continues unaffected. While watching football it happens every 10 minutes or so. It's not a huge issue but more irritating and it only occurs while watching sports. Has anyone had a similar problem that was fixed?

Hi all, 

 

Just an update to apologise for the issues you have experienced when trying to watch sport on NOW TV. 

 

Yesterday we pushed out an update that should now have resolved the issue across our Sports Channels. 

 

We continue to monitor these channels, if you still experience this issue please let us know.

Yes router was working fine. Even disconnected and reconnected again to now tv through the box settings.

I think the issue is so broad that to refund the money and admit the problem would be a huge loss for now tv, so if they ignore us and we go away they keep a lot ofmoney in their account. When I asked for a credit they said they are aware of the issue. Nothing since.

this issue has started to happen again,it had gone away for a while but now looks like its back,im using the black now tv box on a wired connection

Signed up last night to watch Twin Peaks.  Haven't seen that bad quality streaming for 5 years or more.  So blurred it was hard to watch and not easy to read text on the screen.  No problem with our internet.  BBC etc streams in HD no problem.

Will be cancelling before the free trial ends if it doesn't improve.  Would rather wait for the DVD than ruin it by watching in this quality.

Sorry to hear you're having problems. First things first: -

  • What's the make and model number of the device(s) you're using to access and play NOW TV content?
    [ie: a NOW TV 'black' box, a NOW TV 'white' box or a NOW TV 'Smart' box. Or a 'Games Console' of some type, a 'Set Top Box' of some type, a 'Smartphone' of some type, a 'Tablet' of some type, a 'Windows PC', a 'Mac' computer or another type of device]
  • If you are using a computer, what's the operating system version?
  • How is your NOW TV playback device connected to the internet. Is it via a hard-wired or wireless (WiFi) ethernet connection?

Sufficed to say, the more detailed information you are able to provide, the easier it will be for us NOW TV forum members and/or a NOW TV Team member to work out a solution for you!

Just bought a month's sport pass. The F1 Spain Quali is doing this every 10 mins or so. Using the Smart box and via a Chromecast. Doesn't do it with on demand stuff. This needs sorting ASAP.

@Anonymous User this issue has been ongoing since january on both of my black boxes,it stopped doing it a while back but now its came back again,while watching the football it was doing it every 5 minutes,so annoying.

Thanks lockmatt. Do NowTv have any update/info on this? Having read all three pages, NowTv seem to have been quite on a response. Almost threw the remote at the TV when it did it on the final lap on Q3.
