April Showers? More like a reign of sport

by NOW TV Team Andrew-A ‎26-03-2017 10:52 - edited ‎26-03-2017 10:55 (2,180 Views)

Yep we know, the year is going fast but we'll make sure you don't miss a thing of the very best of sporting activity on NOW TV this month.

Premier League

April comes in BIG with the Merseyside derby on April Fools’ Day. Neither Everton nor Liverpool will want to get mugged off seeing as both teams still have a chance of making the Top 4.

While the Reds have stuttered recently, the Blue Noses from Goodison Park have been on fire with Romelu Lukaku banging in the goals left, right and centre. It should be a cracker at Anfield.

Liverpool v Everton 12.30pm Sky Sports 1, Saturday 1 April

If that doesn’t get you hyperventilating, then the very next day we have another mouth-watering clash when Arsenal take on Man City at the Emirates.

The Gunners have ‘enjoyed’ another disappointing season, this year serious questions are being asked about long-serving manager Arsene Wenger’s ability to steer the North London club in the right direction.

Then in the other corner we have Man City, sublime one minute absolutely rubbish the next, this is a game with maximum potential for goals.

Arsenal v Man City 4pm Sky Sports 1, Sunday 2 April

Later on in the month we feature the up-and-coming Red Devils of Manchester as they look to finish the season on a high.

Jose Mourinho seems to be building something at Old Trafford and a home fixture  against Chelsea followed by a Manchester derby at the Etihad will tell us all whether the glory days are set to return.

Man United v Chelsea 4pm Sky Sports 1, Sunday April 16

Man City v Man United 8pm Sky Sports 1, Thursday 27 April

And if you think that’s all April has in store for you, sit down, shut up and listen because we haven’t finished!

We have the Old Firm meeting in the Scottish Cup semi-final followed by El Clasico on the very same day (from Scott Brown to Lionel Messi in one single bound).

Celtic v Rangers 12pm Sky Sports 2, Sunday 23 April

Real Madrid v Barcelona 7.45pm Sky Sports 1, Sunday 23 April

The cherry on top of the derby day cake is the North London Rumble in the very scenic and welcoming White Hart Lane, where bubbling Spurs will be hoping to put wounded Arsenal out of their misery.

Tottenham v Arsenal 4.30pm Sky Sports 1, Sunday 30 April

Formula 1

Unless you’ve been living in a cave with no modern appliances in a Tibetan monastery, you will probably be aware of the fact that Formula 1 is back.

That ‘vroom vroom’ sound would probably have let the cat out of the bag but those brilliant boys in their lightning fast, technically enhanced super cars have returned to battle it out to be crowned World Champion.

Chinese GP 7am Sky Sports F1, Sunday 9 April

Bahrain GP 4pm Sky Sports F1, Sunday 16 April

Russian GP 1pm Sky Sports F1, Sunday 30 April

The 2017 Masters Tournament will be the 81st edition and the first of golf's four major championships to be held in 2017. Last year, England’s Danny Willett pipped American Jordan Spieth to the Green Jacket at Augusta in a thrilling final round. More of the same please.

Masters Tournament 7pm Sky Sports 1, Thurs 6 – Sun 9 April
