Wifi issues for 3 days

Absolute joke now. 4 days with no wifi, both me and my partner need it for work as we dont have much mobile data and thats been used whilst out and about. Nobody wants to give us an update or can give us an update. Utter joke. So youd think someone from Now would actually try to be of help but nope. All useless right now giving me no information. Said look at openreach and website has nothing and says to go through Now but they are palming it off. Definately going to be looking elsewhere once my contracts up as this is a joke

I'll be cancelling, contract states if they don't deliver a certain speed you can leave without penalty and I'd say 4 days so far of zero internet and zero interest in updates pretty much covers that. Absolute joke!

I spoke to Openreach who said they couldn't give me a direct update but if I asked the supplier they could contact them and relay the info, Now customer service just flat refused and said if there's an update it will be put on the service check page.

Whilst the contract does say that, You have to give them reasonable time to resolve the problem.

If the problem is an Openreach one there is not much Now (or any ISP) can do to resolve it, but Now should definately tell you so, and pass on what information they are getting from Openreach.

Assuming you let Now know that your internet is down (people say it’s the WiFi, but your WiFi is probably still working internally, it’s just that it can’t get any signals in and out through the router, which makes it mostly useless at the moment), then automatic compensation will kick in for every day without it after the first two.

This should be enough to fund a WiFi hotspot on a decent SIM deal to tide you over.

In the longer term though, Now Broadband is domestic broadband, and anyone who relies on it for work should ensure that they have a fallback option.

Set a Payment PIN on your account so that no-one but you can buy memberships on it. Check your bank accounts monthly for any other unexpected payments to Now. That way you can at least nip them in the bud, while you and Now figure out whose fault they are.
