Hi everyone, reading the post you sound technically minded so hoping you can help!! Haha.
I have recently set up my now tv hub two - I have managed to connect my MacBook, iPhone and tv. But my google home speaker won’t connect. It’s suggesting step 1: disable the Access Point/AP isolation AKA client isolation or guest mode on the router. Then step 2: enable UPnP or multicast on the router.
I called the nowtv tech team and they suggested I needed to disable these things on the advanced settings of the google home. But this doesn’t seem possible via the google home app.

Does anybody have any ideas? 😩

@Anonymous User Welcome to the forum. Nah, you shouldn't need to do any of that, the NOW TV Hub should work fine with Google Home. Have you tried following the steps in this help article

Hi @Anonymous User

The NowTV Hub 2 is purely a Router to access the internet with and is not a streaming box to watch NowTV on your television.

To watch NowTV on your television, you will need a suitable supported device from the link below together with a suitable NowTV TV pass (i.e. Entertainment, Cinema, Sports, Kids or Hayu pass).

Hi @Anonymous User

Out of curiosity what is the make and model of your television ?

If it's either an LG or Samsung Smart Television then there is a good chance that the television will have the native NowTV App on it.

Have you got any other device connected to your television such has an Youview box for example ?

The only way to use the NowTV App off your smartphone to watch on your television would be plugging in a Chromecast to the television which would involve an extra cost purchasing the Chromecast dongle and it might be to complicated for you to use if you are not Technically minded.

Personally i would look at a NowTV Stick (assuming your television has a HDMI port on it) where you can pick up the Stick from places like Currys, Argos, local Supermarket etc for around £15 to £20.

Hi @Anonymous User

Did you take that model number from the television remote controller ?

I am not familiar with Sony model numbers, but did a quick Google search and it seems the number quoted is a Sony remote controller model number and not the television model number (might be wrong).

Anyway bad news Sony televisions don't have the NowTV inbuilt App currently on them.

If you have a newer Sony Android Smart Television then it might be possible to use the Google Cast App on the television with your Samsung smartphone when using the NowTV App on your phone (not one hundred percent sure if this is possible perhaps a Sony Android Smart TV owner can confirm either way).

Otherwise i would consider the NowTV stick and plug it into the HDMI port on your television.

If you think the NowTV Sales Person has mislead you, then you will need to contact NowTV to see if they will offer you a free Stick or some sort of compensation has a goodwill gesture.
