Unable to turn off the parental PIN

I have a NOW stick and have been using it for a year or so - mainly Sky Sports, Atlantic, and the odd film. Suddenly a few days ago it asked me to type in (set up) a parental PIN number. I think it was to watch "An Idiot Abroad" It has never asked me to do this before. I duly obliged and set one up. Now it asks me to do this every time and I wish to turn it off. We have nearly completed series 2 of "Billions" and it also has just started to ask for the PIN to view.

 

I have logged into my NOW account to turn off the parental PIN. When I attempt to click the "turn off" PIN button it is grayed out and will not permit me to do this. The previous step confirms the parental PIN is "ON".

 

How can I turn off the requirement to type in a parental PIN? I can't see any other obvious way of doing this?

Was it happening on live TV before the watershed at 9pm in the evening ?

Apart from live football, none of the programmes or films we watch are “live”. i.e. they're not on the live prorgamme schedule. We view content from library / on-demand. Last night it was asking for the PIN after 9 pm.

Report this incorrect Parental Pin behaviour to NOW.

 

Watched a few TV shows on Sky Atlantic and a movie thought the day and night yesterday on the NOW on Demand service and no problems for me and the Parental Pin was running has expected like identified on the link article that i posted.

 

The Parental Pin is normally account related across all devices.

 

Does the same thing happen when trying a different playback device if you have one ?

 

If not maybe have a go at removing the NOW App or if using a NOW Stick or NOW box try a full factory reset.
