Stream quality/bitrate difference

Is there difference between bitrate/stream quality in respect to watching some thing as broadcast on epg and watching it on catch up/boxset ?  Just interested

Might be too many people watching the same stream at the same time.  If so its lack of bandwidth from their servers rather than your wifi
