Router dropping internet connection when answering phone

In summary; every time I answer my landline phone, I can hear crackles on the line and the router drop internet connection immediately. This happens during both in-coming and out-going calls. The router is otherwise stable.

I had this issue before and engineers were sent round twice and the problem seemed to have been solved. But it returned about 2 weeks ago.

@Wahid

All you can do is call the broadband team to get them to sort it out again.

Have you checked/replaced the filters? You need one for every extension in use. (unless you have a pre-filtered master socket)

Yes, I’ve had filters go bad in the past. Does exactly what you describe…..

Set a Payment PIN on your account so that no-one but you can buy memberships on it.
Check your bank accounts monthly for any other unexpected payments to Now.
That way you can at least nip them in the bud, while you and Now figure out whose fault they are.

Yes, it has a pre-filtered master socket installed when the first of 2
engineers came round about a 6-8 months ago.

Thanks for the suggestion all the same.

The filter in the socket could have become faulty, you really need to try it with the router and phone in the test socket. (you will need to use a standard plug in filter)
