Redirected for internet issues by now online broadband advisor

I used Now online site to get help with issues with poor connection with my broadband and the online advisor (or AI) redirected me to another page which connected me to another site which wanted me to set up account with "Smart advisor" which wanted me to sign up giving bank details which i did. I then got a possible fraud alert from my bank and had it cancelled. I rang the bank fraud line and was told while the company is legitimate there have been very many calls of complaints about the company, the reason why the bank has them flagged up for warnings.

I am very disappointed that a site such as this can use SKY/Now TV to use their site and potentially take money from their customers so easily and still not have my issue resolved or discussed with an employee of your company. My contract has run its minimum term and i will be changing soon.

FYI that I do not work for NOW, just a NOW customer trying to help

Obviously i don't know how you got the the "dubious"site, but I doubt it was from a direct link on Now.

If you could post a link to the Now page where you were directed to that site, we could possibly explain just how you came across it.

Advisor or Adviser, this is the list the Now Help steers you to, all entirely respectable and above board:-

Like Jayach, I’m intrigued to know how, exactly, you got your eyeballs sucked.

Set a Payment PIN on your account so that no-one but you can buy memberships on it.
Check your bank accounts monthly for any other unexpected payments to Now.
That way you can at least nip them in the bud, while you and Now figure out whose fault they are.
