Potential new customer

I want to get NOW broadband but I live in a rented flat and can’t have sockets or cables changed.
I want to know if I have a BT master phone socket will an engineer have to come out?

Thanks

Have a wee nosy at these two links.

FYI that I do not work for NOW, just a NOW customer trying to help
I’m just worried if I pay for it and then I find out I need a engineer out I will have wasted money

Does the flat have an active phone service?

What phone sockets are in the flat now? if you google Openreach NTE5 do any of them look like that?

and one more thing, Now only offer copper based services , Nows prices are good, but if i was starting from scratch - and didnt need a fixed line ( aka landline ) number i would look to full fibre/fttp (if available)

Yeah the master socket does look like that it has BT written across it. I believe the building was only put up 5 years ago so It should be a relatively new socket/ cable.
We aren’t interested in having a landline however we do only want a 12 month contract so NOW are one of the cheapest for that length of time

Now comes over a landline to that socket, but you don’t pay extra for the landline, it’s included in the quoted price for the broadband service.

But maybe what you mean here is that you don’t need it to make telephone calls on? In which case, ignore the bit where Now say you get a Pay As You Go service on it, don’t plug a phone into it, and just pretend it’s not there.

Set a Payment PIN on your account so that no-one but you can buy memberships on it. Check your bank accounts monthly for any other unexpected payments to Now. That way you can at least nip them in the bud, while you and Now figure out whose fault they are.

It does sound like you have a BT/Openreach master socket, which is required for Now.

This may help identify just which one you have. (all are fine)

Yeah I definitely have one of those with the split phone line and broadband.
Thank you for helping me!
