PC connection problem

My internet connection went live on the 13th September. Phone and Smart TV connected with no problem. However connecting via ethernet cable to PC failed completely with the message:- Ethernet doesn't have a valid IP address.

When I connect over Wi-Fi using a dongle it connects with no issue.

I'm starting to think there is a router problem but would appreciate any other views.

Hi @CbuNewbie

What happens if you go into your NOW Router webpage settings and change the Ethernet setting from Gigabit to Fast ?

Hi schnapps

Thank you so much - it worked! No idea how but you have now ended a week of frustration.....

I suspect the Ethernet cable you are using is not at least cat 5e. the Ethernet ports themselves should negotiate the speed.
