Outrage

We went out of broadband for more than a week now around Kilburn and I called the center. First time, they said it will be fixed under 48h hours, then second time under a week and now they don't know when.

@Cyril

Even though your connection is maintained by OpenReach, NOW are your middleman and all forms of commutation must be through them. So best to get in touch and complain about lack of updates.

Bear in mind with you reporting it, you have this.

Called NOW and they advised me to contact OpenReach to know when the problem will be fixed. Seems like the NOW center people doesn't have any idea of the problem and if doesn't know if anyone is sent to fixed the line.

Whoever told you to speak with OpenReach is full of rubbish. It is their job to get all and any updates from them.

Called Now once again after two weeks without broadband. So they still don't know when the outage will be fixed, the operator keep telling me that it's affect the whole are and that I have to call Open Reach after I told them several time that it's not up to me to do so. That's what I found on Open Reach website:

"Why can’t you contact Openreach directly? You can, but we’re a wholesaler and we were set up to work for communications providers – the companies that you buy your home or business phones or broadband from. Contacting them is the fastest way to fix a whole range of problems. And if they think the issue is with our network, they’ll contact us and arrange for us to fix it. "

I asked Now to directly contact Open Reach to have any update but the operator keep telling me that they cannot do that. So I don't even know if someone is fixing or intent to fix the problem.

How large is the area affected by the outage?

If it is an Openreach problem, presumably all your neighbours are also affected, are they getting any more feedback from their ISPs?

Does this Openreach page help at all?

Contact us | Openreach

You could try EVA in the bottom right of that page. she may be able to help.
