Internet disconnects when the front door opens and shuts

Hi everyone

I'm having this strange issue with my internet for the past few months, whenever the front door opens and closes, the internet disconnects for a few minutes and connects again. I cannot figure out why it keeps doing this, does anyone have any idea??

I have tested everything to moving the wifi away or somewhere else in the house but internet still keeps disconnecting.

Check the wiring in the master socket, one may have come loose and vibrations from the door are causing it to disconnect. If you are unhappy opening it, just try giving it a tap and see if that brings the problem on.

The other possibility is the cable may be trapped by the door frame, if that is how it enters the house.

However the cable and master socket belong to Openreach, so report the problem to Now, and they should call Openreach out.

How does your telephone cable enter the house? How far from the front door is the master socket.

Might give you the answer, at a pinch…

Set a Payment PIN on your account so that no-one but you can buy memberships on it. Check your bank accounts monthly for any other unexpected payments to Now. That way you can at least nip them in the bud, while you and Now figure out whose fault they are.
This week, I are genrally been watching epsidoes on my Sasmung TV

I'm not 100% sure on the telephone cable but master socket isn't that far from front door. I've been with nowtv for 1 year and this has only started happening 3 months ago...

@Philip1816 do you have a micro filter plugged into the master socket?

If you do, it could be that the filter has a loose connection or is on its way out.

I'd be tempted to try a new filter as well as you can do that relatively quickly and if that doesn't solve the issue then book an engineer with Now.
