How to block websites?

I am trying to block certain websites.

I have tried:
• Using the settings in Broadband Buddy (at https://account.nowtv.com/broadband-buddy/settings/)
• Using the settings at http://192.168.0.1/Now_TV_firewall_rules.html to block via IP address

I have even entered the domains of the websites and it doesn't work.

I have tried resetting the router and waiting for 48 hours, but it still doesn't work. You can access the websites freely.

As a test, I added bbc.co.uk to both Broadband Buddy and http://192.168.0.1/Now_TV_block_sites.html, but it still can be accessed.

How can I make this work?

I can't give the website URL as it's a work one, that I don’t want my kids accessing, while they are at home.

The website is a subdomain. After resetting my router, it will block the main domain, but not the subdomain. (e.g. It will block example.com, but not files.example.com).

I need blocking at either a router or broadband buddy level, as my kids use different devices and they are too clever and can get around things.
