Compatible Wifi extender for Hub Two?

I am a new NOW broadband user previously with Virgin Media. I have always had to use a wifi extender to help performance in my office, the furthest room in the house from the access point. I have used the Netgear EX6000 for the last 3 years and has worked perfectly. Unfortunately, the WPS pairing does not work with the NOW TV Hub Two WPS. NOW customer service have said it's probably down to incompatibility. Can anybody recommend a proven, tried and tested extender that definitely works/pairs with the NOW TV Hub Two WPS. Thanks.

Hi @Anonymous User

I don't use any wifi extenders with my NowTV Hub 2 Router, but have you tried splitting the NowTV Hub 2 WiFi network bands and then factory reset your wifi extender and then try connecting to the NowTV Hub Router 2.4ghz wifi range ?

Here's the instructions.

Your Hub Two is dual-band (2.4GHz and 5 GHz). Splitting these bands to create 2 different Wi-Fi networks can help to improve the speed to your devices. Here’s how to do it.

  1. Open your web browser and enter "192.168.0.1” in the address bar.
  2. Select Maintenance and enter “admin” and “nowtv” as the username and password.
  3. Select Wireless and then 2.4 GHz Wireless Settings
  4. Scroll down to “Wireless Access Point” and uncheck Synchronise 2.4GHz and 5GHz Settings.
  5. In the ‘Name (SSID)’ box, Change the network name to distinguish it from the current network (e.g. add “_2.4G” to the current name). Select Apply.
  6. Check the network name has been updated, and then select 5GHz Wireless Settings.
  7. To be able to see easily which network is which on your devices, change the ‘Name (SSID)’ here too (e.g. add “_5G” to the current name). Select Apply.
  8. That’s it. Select Logout at the top of the screen to exit.

I have exactly the same problem. Been using a Netgear EX6110 wifi extender for a year since moving to my current flat, no problem. Switched to NowTV Broadband with the Hub 2 router about a month ago and connection between the extender and the router seems to drop/not connect properly.

This is definitely a connection issue between the two bits of equipment, not a speed/channel issue (so the suggestion from your other reply won't help me).

Can you tell me if you got a new wifi extender and how well its working? Thanks!
