Can only get internet in 1 room

I just had the internet installed to my master socket, which is in my bedroom. The guy said I should be able to connect throughout my house. However, the second I leave my bedroom I lose all reception. So I can't get a signal in any other room. Whilst I will be using the internet in my bedroom sometimes, I really need it in my living room (which is the furthest room from my bedroom). Does anyone know if Now provides free boosters or help with this? It seems a little shabby that the signal doesn't travel more than five metres. Or do I have to go and buy it myself? If so, does anyone have any recommendations?

Much appreciated

Phil

So NOW only provide you the router and phone support. For any "Wi-fi boosters" this will have to be from your own pocket.

You could split the signals, which should improve the speed. Maybe not the signal itself, but worth trying. Have a nosy at the below link for hints and tips including splitting the signals.

FYI that I do not work for NOW, just a NOW customer trying to help

Splitting the 2.4ghz and 5ghz signal might work, another thing that might make a differences is the position of the router and what its next to

My advice would be as previous to split the bands as advised by gavs82008

And if you have an android phone to install an app called Wifi Analyzer:

https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.farproc.wifi.analyzer&hl=en_GB&gl=US

This will give you signal strength, plus the ability to see what other networks are out there and to pick an unused wifi channel
