When you order NowTV Broadband, you will be advised if it's a self install (where you plug in the NowTV Router yourself on the live scheduled activation date) or an Engineer is needed to install / modify the telephone line or BT Master Socket in your home.
i have done three switch overs, two from TalkTalk and one from BT and they where all self installs.
Though on my Dad's line when BT Openreach was testing at the local green street cabinet they found an issue at my Dad's telephone socket and had to gain access to his house, luckily he was home at the time to let the BT Openreach Engineer access into the house to replace the master socket which was causing the issue (even though it was supposed to be a straight forward self install).
