Broadband throttled after first week

Hi all,

I set up with Now TV broadband a few weeks ago, it's the fastest fibre option.

For the first week the down/up speeds were good, however, since then the service has been really patchy, often I can't even stream Netflix (standard).

I've noted on broadband speed test, I was getting around 17mbps (up) initially, now it's only at 7. Down stream has also dropped (I think it was at least 50mbps before, now 40).

Seems like it's being throttled?

Any options to contact CS?

@Anonymous User

Are these results over Wi-Fi or Ethernet?

If it’s the former have you tried splitting the Wi-Fi signals? As this would improve the speed.

Broadband download and upload speeds explained (nowtv.com)

To measure your access line speed:

  1. Open a new browser window and type 192.168.0.1 into the address bar, then press Enter.
  2. When prompted, enter the username admin and the password nowtv.
  3. Once signed in, select Maintenance from the options at the top.
  4. You'll find your access line speed in the Modem section, labelled as DownStream Connection Speed.

Hi John,

They're:

Line Rate - Upstream (Kbps):7976
Line Rate - Downstream (Kbps):43998

I just did a line test and it 'detected slow speed' so I've booked an engineer.

Let's hope the engineer finds a cure.😀
