Broadband switching

Hi all, just, signed on the NOW broadband. Had a read through all the blurb but can't find the info I'm looking for.

Do I have to notify my old provider that I'm off to greener pastures or is it all taken care of by the NOW mothership?

Thanks

Which provider are you switching from? If it's not Virgin, then NOW will do everything.

You should however opt to keep your existing landline phone number to make the process smoother.

Switching from BT, they're really going nuts with the charges now.

As long as it is FTTC with BT no problem. If you are on FTTP with them it may get a bit complicated.

Because there are Ofcom rules regarding switching between FTTC providers, but they don't include FTTP (yet). Also Openreach may not really want to reconnect the copper as they are trying to phase it all out.

Are you on FTTP at the moment? It may all go well switching back, I just wanted to warn you it might not.
