Hello all,
I'm considering signing up for NOW Broadband but have had some conflicting infomation from the set-up page.
On one page it states Mb/s which is Megabytes per second, whereas another page states Mbps which is Megabits per second, if you're not aware, a megabyte is 8 times greater than a megabit and is a little misleading. Am I getting megabytes or megabits here? I wish these companies would do a little more to explain these terminologies for the less tech-savvy individuals.
Could someone please shed some light on the situation?
Thanks in advance.

Megabits, and it normally takes about ten bits to send an eight-bit byte, with parity and comms overhead, when you do the conversion from Megabits to Megabytes.

Sorry, but Mbs (with or without the slash) is megabits per second.
MBs is megabytes per second.
All broadband speeds are quoted in Mbs.
So when comparing broadband suppliers they ail all use Mbs.
