Border around screen

We have a samsung tv but when you watch a film the picture had the border at the top and bottom. I’ve spoke to Samsung help desk and they said it’s a now tv setting that needs to change but how??

What movie was you watching on nowtv ?

Where a lot of movies (not only on NowTV, but on Netflix, Amazon, on Blu Ray / DVD or in the cinema are shot in 21.9 letter box aspect ratio which is what the film director intended).

The only way to get rid of the top and bottom black bars is to press the zoom button on your TV remote, but this will stretch the picture and will make it look unnatural to watch.
