Activation day and Internet

Hi, it's activation day for me today. I've plugged everything in right (I think) but the Internet light isn't on yet. How long did it take for yours to come on? Is there something I havnt done?

I'm absolutely rubbish at this stuff so any help would be gratefully received

Just make sure you leave the router plugged in and switched on.

FYI that I do not work for NOW, just a NOW customer trying to help

What is your situation? Are you new to the premises, swapping from another FTTC ISP, swapping from Virgin?

I was with plusnet, I'm swapping over

If you were/are with PlusNet I would leave their router on until its stops working. Openreach do not always seem to be able to keep to timescales lately.

It did stop working

Did you cancel it, Now should really start working shortly after PlusNet stopped.

I had about an hour down time when I moved from Plusnet to NOW. Service has been good so no complaints so far. Only difference I've noticed is the price is cheaper but theWiFi signal not as good as Plusnet.

Mine switched from plusnet to now overnight with no noticeable downtime

Did you :

A: tell plusnet you want to cancel, or

B: sign up with Now and never told plus net you want to cancel - just receiving the sorry you are leaving email's/messages

How you leave your old ISP is important as it can have an effect on activation
