buffering and sorry there was an error in the player

im trying to watch on my samsung smart tv through the app,when putting on a sports channel and an entertainment channel im getting the buffering circles every minute or so and when i watch another channel im getting an on screen message saying SORRY,THERE WAS AN ERROR IN THE PLAYER,its also happening on the small black box also,everything seems very slow to load up and laggy,both are on a wired connection with speeds of 79mbps.

my dad uses now tv, we have had it for a few years no problems

this year the black box started lagging when watching footy then says ‘sorry there was an error with the player’ and crashes. We bought a now tv stick to try and changed internet providers and the same thing happened.

Sounds like the same issue

Have you tried to delete and reinstall the app on your Smart TVs?


Another suggest for the Now TV box and your Smart TV is that you can set it back to factory settings. This often squashes bugs on the system.


Also it’s worth disconnecting the router for a few minutes and turning it back on
