OVP_00012 Error even though I am in the UK

For the last week, I have been getting the error OVP_00012 saying streaming is t available in my area

i have contacted now live chat but they are not helpful at all. They just want to pass blame elsewhere

i have contacted my ISP and they gave me proof that my IP address is in the uk

I have rebooted my router a number of times

i have powered down the router for 20 mins and still have the issue

i have reset my smart tv and reinstalled the app

i am also able to watch other uk apps like bbc iplayer, bt sport and itv x. Even after telling now live chat this, they don’t acknowledge it

it looks to me that there is an issue on their side with how they detect my location. In the last week they have told me I am located in the USA, Switzerland and sweden

if anyone has any ideas it would be greatly appreciated

When you set reset to the TV and router was this a factory reset or a “reboot” ?

FYI that I do not work for NOW, just a NOW customer trying to help

I tried both. For the tv reset, I actually contacted Samsung support and they took control of my tv and done a reset of the smart hub and made sure to set the network location as the uk

This issue certainly does creep up a few times a year from what I’ve seen. Perhaps drop support an email to see if you can get somewhere through a different way? See below picture for the email address.

That being said. You could keep trying with live chat to see if you get someone to take it in?

Thanks. I can try that email today

i raised a complaint a few days ago but I am waiting on a reply on that

its just frustrating for it to happen when we pay for this service. Especially over the weekend when I pay for a sports package

If you have a suitable data plan (check carefully!) you could perhaps use a mobile phone as a WiFi hotspot in the interim, while Now get their act together,

Set a Payment PIN on your account so that no-one but you can buy memberships on it. Check your bank accounts monthly for any other unexpected payments to Now. That way you can at least nip them in the bud, while you and Now figure out whose fault they are.

I have tried this but unfortunately I live in a very rural area and the mobile signal is patchy at best 🙈
