I just bought a Sony TV which has a number of Apps including Netflix, Disney, Amazon Prime and Now TV.
My TV is connected to a Sonos 5.1 set up via the TV optical output into the Sonos. I get DD 5.1 for Netflix, Disney, Amazon Prime but not for Now TV. Now TV boosts is set to Surround and I have uninstalled the Now App from the TV and reinstalled it a few times. I have also tried all sort of set ups in the TV, restarting the TV, unplugging, etc….but still Now TV App does not output 5.1 from the App to the Sonos system,
Does anyone have a similar issue and would you have any solution?

You need to change the sound setting on the NOW app itself.
Go to My Account and Settings and ensure that Surround sound is selected.
