Hi. App was previously working but recently we’ve been unable to watch anything through NOWTV app on LG TV: I’ve signed out of account, rebooted TV and router multiple
times, reinstalled the app.
Just keep getting the “Sorry there was an error in the player” message. Please help! Thanks.

So I have an lg TV and the app is working fine which I know doesn't help but there are some quirks I've had with the TV itself over the years that has affected apps particularly after updates.
1. Double check your location - settings>general>location. If the field is blank, enter the first part of your postcode and press enter. It will ask you to retune the TV.
2. Untick and then retick the end user agreement. It may sign you out of app accounts when doing this.
3. If you have an LG account on the TV, sign out.
4. If you are using a ethernet cable, check in settings that it is working and hasn't set itself to WiFi only. Check that IP is set to 'automatic'.
5. Free up some memory by going to the web browser, settings and 'delete history'.
Failing all of these, the only other thing which someone has said worked for them is to do a factory reset.

I don't own an LG Smart Television, but have you tried to unplug the power socket on the back of the television for about 5 minutes then see if you can access the NowTV App.
Might be worth trying if you haven't done it before.

We are having the same problem the last two days. With a new LG tv. The app brings up all program's but when you go to play anything it comes up with the same error. We can not watch anything......

Same! We can watch NOW TV with no problems on iPhones and iPads though

Same. App worked fine on LG TV. Now getting that same error message Had to cancel NowTV.

Well I’ve tried all tricks suggested and still no joy. I can get the TV guide up which is live with current time and programming but every time that I try to select a program to watch the message of “ error with the player “ comes up. The Now tv help website is useless so I will now be cancelling my tv pass

I'm trying to watch through LG smart tv and just getting message "Sorry, something went wrong. Please go back and try to play again" can play on iPhone and laptop. Very frustrating.
