Chromecast not working

Chromecast has just started to not work, getting a message "Viewing stopped Something's gone wrong.  If the problem persists contact online support team"

 

All was working ok until today.  rebooted phone and chromecast same error. Anyone any ideas please?

 

Also, searched site, no idea how to contact online support - appears to not be an option, am I missing something obvious?

There has been an important development in relation to this problem. Yesterday evening, I received the following email:

 

"Hi, Thanks for your recent contact to NOW TV. We're really sorry to see you've been having issues when attempting to view NOW TV on your Chromecast device. We wanted to let you know that our technical team have been looking into this and the issue should now be resolved. Thanks for your patience whilst this was investigated. Happy Watching!

 

The NOW TV Team"

 

This morning I opened Google Chrome on my laptop and then the Now TV app on my tablet. I then attempted to cast from the tablet to the TV. It worked! I was also able to end the cast without issue. Tried several times and it worked fine every time. So it looks like the problem has, indeed, been resolved.

 

There was an update to Google Chrome that I downloaded before trying all this so, if you're still encountering the issue, you might want to check for the update first.

Started to work again so managed to watch F1 qualifying, now stopped working again.

 

Clearly an issue with the app.

Same with me, issues on the Friday, have reset etc etc. Other apps working without issues/ 

Huddled round phone, not good.

Thanks. Ended up borrowing a PS4 which worked fine. Tried Chromecast
again just now but no luck. Don't know if you're into F1, but it was an
interesting race, for a change.

I have the exactly same issue, no link or page to contact customer support. i can only assume they are aware

Having exactly the same issue. Validated Sports Day Pass yesterday 14:00. Worked fine until 18:30 when I stopped watching. Went to watch NFL at 21:15 & won't cast from tablet. Rebooted Chromecast. No change. Getting "Viewing Stopped" error message. All other apps casting ok. Tried customer support. They suggested reboot again. No joy. They said they will escalate issue. That's it! Extremely frustrating! Has anyone resolved this problem?

I was having the chromecast viewing stopped problem yesterday afternoon.

I  could watch NOW TV on my tablet but not cast to the Chromecast.

Trawling this forum someone reported that the problem was caused by using a PC with the google chrome browser on the same home network.

My son was using Google chrome on his PC.

After closing the chrome browser I could then  cast to the Chromecast.

This may have been co-incidental I have not tested it again to prove it.

This problem appears to be unique to NOW TV.

Chrome browser/Sky Now casting failure does appear to be reproducible.

 

Sky Now failed to cast to Chromecast from iPad, with error msg. Had Chrome browser open on Mac so quit it and retried Sky Now. Casting from iPad worked. Opened Chrome browser on Mac, Sky Now failed to cast. Closed Chrome browser and able to cast Sky Now from iPad again.

 

Repeated a few times with same outcome so suggests some link, at least in this case.

 

Mac and iPad on same Wi-Fi network.

Can not reproduce on windows ten. Issue still not resolved. How do you contact "online support"?
