When is the AppleTV app Beta going to start, I got an email saying 2nd half of August & not heard anything since. Also will the App be delivered by Apple Test Flight?
Roland
Was that really the latest build you had 😉
@Anonymous User Now you mention it, I can’t exactly remember the exact version number now! It was the last one that was up on TestFlight and then got pulled not long after. carried on working until today but the 90 days is up.
4.3.3 rings a bell for some reason, but I might be thinking of something else. Maybe due to all the banging my head against a brick wall trying to get a response from the Trials Manager after it all mysteriously vanished..
Same for me, stopped working and no more in test flight, passes Canceled, I used Apple TV’s and don’t want another box so I’m out.
I removed the last beta app as I literally couldn't watch anything, movies, entertainment, each time a new error - I never knew there were so many error messages on the platform! Strang thing is that I'd really had no issues with all previous beta apps.
I had a case raised but was bluntly told I was low priority as they were working on the app not just my problem. Reading through posts of last couple of months in this thread it seems it is in fact not just me after all, I was made to feel I was being a nuisance just contacting them for updates.
Since then no reply to emails.
I know I could simply get a NowTV box and stick but literally everything else is on my Apple TV. From BT Sport to Prime Video it is my go to platform for a smart tv there isn't a single major app in UK apart from NowTV which isn't fine on there.
I’m exactly the same my Apple box has everything I need, how this app for nowtv has not been updated for over 4 years is a joke, every other app gets weekly updates. The BT app is great proper 1080p as was Amazon football last night. I suggest sky get this app up and running sharp.
it's so bizarre that this hasn't been updated yet. It's a major platform! I read somewhere that they did get an update in Ireland - is that true?
Yup. Rather infuriating nothing is happening here...
Yes disgusting isnt it happy to take peoples money and yet no update for an app for 4 years. And why does Ireland get it first last time I checked wasnt there more people in the uk and isnt this a uk company. I even emailed Jeremy darroch 2 weeks ago and not a single response to this.
@Anonymous User yeah JD was a bit busy doing a bit of coding for the new app that day... 😂
Still no news!? It’s very annoying to pull the beta just before Christmas! In addition when you go back to the old app you have to use your device swaps to setup again!
Why they can’t just extend the beta again I do not know, or why they can’t publish a proper app is even more unexplainable!
It is such a shame that’s companies like Sky feel they can’t communicate with their customers to reassure them of their plans. From a customer’s point of view, it just feels like wanton neglect. The app is such an embarrassment to themselves and annoyance to us customers that anything from Sky would be nice.
Come on Sky! Give us an early Christmas present and release Now TV on Apple TV. Remember, “If you build it, they will come”
They have never been good at communicating with customers and loyalty counts for nothing. But in agreement this app needs updating ASAP but wouldn’t be surprised till it’s late in January. Very poor sky.
I believe this is what you have to told but I doubt it is true. Ireland and the UK are under the same CEO so I doubt there were two parts of the same organisation writing the exact same software. It looks like Sky have other plans for the UK market.
I do believe Ireland is a full size beta (like Disney did in The Netherlands)
it’s all about time
@Anonymous User Exactly what I’ve been saying since it launched. Both U.K. and Ireland Now TV services are operated by Sky U.K. Limited. Not at all separate companies. Sky have definitely gotten a full size beta out there exactly like Disney did. I honestly think we’ll see it launch in the U.K. before years end. Now TV can’t afford to have a rubbish app anymore. It’s as simple as that. Apple TV+, Netflix and Prime all have solid apps. Disney+ is only just over four months away. It’s crunch time for Now TV on Apple TV now and they know it.
Does anyone know if NowTV is broadcasting at 50fps in Ireland or is it still a ######-poor 25fps?
I would hope, as I'm sure we all would, that the newer NowTV app is up and running soon on Apple TV. It's a disgrace there has been no update in 4 years. 1080p/50fps would be ideal, though I'd happily settle for 720p so long as the frame rate was upped. 1080p at 25fps won't cut it no matter how fancy the new app looks.
