Premier league Buffering and poor picture

I am trying to watch Man Utd v Liverpool, but now tv keeps buffering and the picture is very poor. This often happens when I watch a premier league game. Never happens when I am watching movies or entertainment. My broadband connection is 54mb and I have no other devices using the internet. Does anyone else have this problem? Regards.
