Now TV App on Samsung Smart TV

Hi, is there a way to fast forward or rewind a program when watching the Now TV App on a Samsung Smart TV?  It has buttons to allow you to do this but they don't work. Is there any other way?  Thanks

In case you're still having problems @Karl-F from the NOW TV Team has posted the following info which should help

We’re very sorry for the experience you've encountered so far with NOW TV on your Samsung device, however we do have an update that should resolve this issue.

Can you please check that you're on the correct firmware version for your TV, you’ll need to be on version 1147.

If this is not the case, you are able to download this version on to a USB and upload this to your TV. Version 1147 can be found via this link here: http://www.samsung.com/uk/support/model/UE75MU6100KXXU/

On this page there is a 'DOWNLOADS' section which should have version 1147 available. Click the download link and download to your computer.

You can chose to follow the steps below or open the manual below download section on the link above.

Copy the downloaded file to a USB stick.
Double click on the file on the USB stick to extract it.
Put the USB stick into the USB port on your tv.
Open the menu and navigate to Support/Software Update - do a software update and when it asks you if you would like to check your USB stick say yes.

This should pick up and install the new firmware.

Welcome to the forum. It appears to be a known bug that is affecting the Samsung TV app. The NOW TV Team posted an update on Tuesday to say they are investigating it.

In the meantime you might want to look at the list of supported devices to see if there are any other devices you can use to watch with eg games consoles, streaming boxes.

Thanks for your reply.  I would hope that Now TV is able to resolve this soon.  One of the incentives for buying my Samsung TV was the free 3 months NOW Tv subscription and it is really disappointing that I cannot use this to its full functionality.

Welcome to the forum. According to

https://help.nowtv.com/article/get-now-tv-on-my-device

the NOW TV app is currently available on 2015, 2016 and 2017 Samsung TVs models J, K, L, M or Q, except for Samsung Serif models. Yours is a JU model (2015 UHD) rather than a J model (2015 1080p) so I don't think your TV is currently supported.

Hi @Andy

I was under the impression that the Samsung JU Series (4K) UHD Televisions had the NowTV App inbuilt into their TV's ?

Might be wrong though, has i don't own a Samsung Smart TV, but a couple of Samsung JU owners have mentioned the NowTV App in this thread linked below.

https://community.nowtv.com/t5/Samsung-TV/Samsung-2016-4k-Smart-Tv-App-problems/td-p/422288/highligh...

Perhaps a forum member who owns a Samsung JU series TV can confirm if the NowTV App is available for the JU TV range?

@schnapps Fair enough, you'll be right, I don't remember why I walk into a room never mind what Samsung model numbers have been mentioned before! Sorry for the mistake.

Hi @Andy

My post wasn't intended to put anybody's nose out of joint and if it come across that way then i apologise Smiley Embarassed.

Your knowledge on here is far greater than mine Smiley Happy

I am not saying that i am right or wrong because i don't own a Samsung Smart TV and can not confirm either way if the NowTV App is available on the Samsung JU series.

Maybe a Samsung JU series TV owner or a NowTV Team member can confirm yes or no and if the NowTV App is available on the TV then perhaps they can also assist the OP in helping them out.

If the NowTV App is available on the JU series TV, then perhaps the OP is based in Eire (where when i checked last Samsung Smart TV's weren't supported) or if living in the UK they haven't set up their App Store for the UK market ?
