Using a previously purchased Sports Voucher on Roku box

Today I purchased a Roku stick having intended to buy a Now TV box but none were available. I bought the Roku as it showed that it supported Now TV.

All I want to do is watch F1 on my TV. I can't use Chromecast from my Mac as Now TV only works on Safari and Safari doesn't support Chromecast.

I'd already purchased o One Week Sports Ticket on my account and expected I'd be able to watch it via the Roku stick.

I can log in and it recognises my account but... I enter the only number I can find on the e-mail I got from Now TV but that is not recognised.

Amazingly the screen tells me that my voucher expires on 25 March but there is no way to use it as I have no other numbers to enter.

I'm at the point of taking the device back as that's the only reason I bought it.

Can anyone help with this problem?

@Anonymous User to use your Roku stick just login with your NOW TV username and password on the NOW TV app and select a Sports channel. You'll then be asked if you wish to activate your pass, say yes and the 7 days start from then.

As for your Chromecast, do you have any iPhones, iPads or Android devices as you can only cast NOW TV from those.

you can only have a measly  4 devices attached to your now tv account.

If you havent reached this limit.

The Roku stick should just work after entering your Now TV account details into the Now TV channel/ap on the Roku stick, how many devices have you got registered? if you dnt know go to the My account link at the top right of this page and select manage devices.

you mauy need to remove something if you have reached the 4 items limit

Thanks @chilli2

It's not a too many devices problem but really a lack of consistency among Now TV access points. And as you'll read in my reply to @Anonymous User, a bit of stupidity in my reading the information on what devices do and don't accept Sky Sports Week Passes.

@Anonymous User The code for a Sky Sports Week Pass can be input by logging in to your account on a computer.

You have to go to http://watch.nowtv.com/sports and then click on the "buy a pass" button near the bottom left of the screen. It then pops up an overlay to choose which pass to buy - day or week or month. Choose week and then choose "apply a voucher" on the resulting pop-up. Type in the code and activate the pass, then most importantly click on "save for later". It's a bit of a convoluted process, but that's how I always do it - the NOW TV app on my Apple TV (2nd gen) doesn't allow for input of codes either, but any sports day or week pass that has previously been input to my account via the computer (and saved for later use) "goes live" as soon as I start watching a sports channel.

Hope that helps you in the future.

My problem is that I bought a Sky Sports Week Pass online before I purchased the Roku. When I set up the Roku and logged into my Now TV account it offered me only free trials of two monthly pakages and under Sports Pass if told me the expiry date of the pass I had but gave me no way of using it.

I've backtracked today and looked more into the Now TV site and realise I missed something rather vital.

"Please note: Sky Sports Week Pass vouchers can't be applied using the NOW TV Box or Roku Box."

So unless I buy a month pass I'm scuppered it would seem as I only want to buy passes for F1 race weekends and there is generally only two a month 😞

All Now TV access points are not created equal and this I find very annoying. My tablet and phone are Amazon devices and I can't seem to cast from them. I have an old iPhone that only works when plugges in (dead battery) and I may try that to cast Now TV to my set. Life used to be simpler....

@Anonymous User when you buy a sports pass online it's sat on your account to use when you are ready. You don't get a code or voucher. It's a voucher which you can pick up from Game, Currys or Argos which you can't enter on your box, but if you use it at the NOW TV website you can watch on your Roku.
