Before giving a roku away/selling it, you should always doa factory re-set as any account infomration for services such as Netflix/Amazon prime and Now TV will still be there.
You may have to close the Roku account associated with that box information on how to do that is here: https://support.roku.com/en-gb/article/208756028-how-do-i-close-my-roku-account-

If it's a NOW TV box you have rather than a Roku box the easiest solution would be to get the box back or go round to your friend's house and log out of the NOW TV app. It sounds like this may not be an option though, in which case have a look at the following page for a way of changing the password and signing everyone out so that your friend won't be able to log back in and watch
However if you don’t have a security question set up on your account, or can’t remember the answer, then you may need to cancel the passes on your account (I’d also recommend changing the password using the email link option, and also popping onto live chat and asking them to remove your card details) and then when any passes or offers you have on that account have finished, set up a new account with a new email address and use that one for future passes.

could you maybe delete the device then immediately log in on a new device like a phone or tablet and so use the slot so they won’t be able to log in?
