That's odd behaviour. What make and model of television do you have your Roku connected to?

Hi @Anonymous User

Sorry to hear this, As @SeeMoreDigitalhas mentioned, Would you be able to give us a bit more details on what device your using and how it is connected to your TV.

This will allow us to better understand your issue and help resolve it.

Thanks

Hello

Monday (and for the past 6 months) I've was watching Now TV Movies and Entertainment just fine - as from yesterday (Tuesday 24th november 2015) Now TV only appears in the top left hand corner of the screen.

I have:

- rebooted (switched on and off) the router and Roku box

- reset the Roku box

- updated Roku software

- completed a full factory reset

Still the screen, only in Now TV (all other channels play full screen), play in the top left hand corner of the screen - what's going on?

@Anonymous User as per @Anonymous User suggestion on the other page, are you using the AV cable, and do you have the option to use a HDMI lead (don't worry if you don't they are trying to fix the fault)?

Hi Tom_R

I've been using an HDMI cable all the time ie when it was fine and now when it is not fine. I just checked it again 5 minutes ago and it is still a problem.

@Anonymous User @Anonymous User in Settings you should have something about display settings, what is it set to? It'll be something like SD, HD, 480, 720, 1080.

Thanks @Anonymous User and @Anonymous User,

As you're using HDMI, can you try going into the display settings on your Roku, and changing the output to 720P or 1080P? It'll probably be set on 4:3 or 16:9 at the moment. Then try again and let me know what happens.

We've been able to replicate this here now by the way - it seems it can happen with HDMI or AV cable, and relates to the output setting. We're continuing to work on it.

Thanks,

Tom

I've been using A/V connection since I bought the Roku box last Christmas - so just now I've switched to a HDMI cable (don't know why I didn't do this from the start)...

... after a Roku box reset... for a few minutes I got Now TV entertainment full screen (yipee) for a few minutes then the screen turned purple with the message "DCP unauthorised. Content disabled."

Again I reset the box... and I have Now TV full screen when viewing Movies and Entertainment.

Still, seems odd loads of people suffering the 1/4 screen thing all at the same time, no?

Peace baz

Ps. also, when I swapped to a HDMI cable I changed the screen settings to 720p.

Hi there - am at work atm but will try that when I get home and report back. Still don't quite understand why it 'slipped' in the first place though...?

@Anonymous User your box upgraded to the new OS7 in the last few days, this combined with a display setting that very few use has resulted in a bug with the NOW TV app.

Hi Tom-R

Changed setting on the Roku to 720 (1080 not an option) and problem is solved!!!

Well done, but I wonder why as I never messed with the settings in the first place.

This kind of thing sometimes happens when software on devices is 'automatically' updated. I've seen weird things happen to televisions and surround sound receivers when their software has a 'automatically' updated Smiley Surprised

And many thanks to all those people who provided more detailed information about their Roku devices 😉

I'm having the same problem, of programs in Now to only showing in top left hand corner.  It started yesterday. Have tried rebooting to no avail.

Am watching on a LG to using a roku box through an AV cable. No problem with my Netflix, I player etc. Have changed the settings to widescreen but don't seem to be able to change the settings from 702 to 1032 (I think that was the number) as its not an option on the settings.

This is highly irritating, who knew a small screen could be so annoying!

I am currently having this issue as well. I have a Roku box which is connected to a Samsung 32" TV. We also have on here various Catch Up channels and Netflix and they are all working fine.

This has only started happening today (we have had NowTV for nearly 2 years) and it's affecting both the movies and Entertainment packages. Does anyone have any ideas?

Hi

This problem has just started for me today. Yesterday everything was fine and no settings were changed between then and now. I also have a roku box and a Samsung uhd tv but these can't be the cause of the issue as everything was fine yesterday. I've tried adjusting the picture size on the tv and also on the roku box settings tab but this does not correct the problem. Need help from the nowtv people!!

Are you only seeing this issue when using/launching the NOW TV app. What happens with other apps?

Cheers

Thank you for responding. I just tried the bbc iplayer app (from the roku box) and that displays fine.

What's your Roku box's 'model number' and 'Software Version'?
