new install - new player stopped working

I have just started a new NowTV subscription. ( I last had a subscription approx 4 years ago).

 

I downloaded and installed the now tv player.

When I run it I get a black window with the error "now tv has stopped working", no useful error codes.

 

I have restarted, uninstalled, reinstalled, tried running with no other applications etc.. several times, but always the same.


It says its running version 8.11.0 in the corner.

I'm on windows 10 pro.

Do you have bitdefender?

If so you’ll need to add as an exception.
