Video horribly distorted when I go full screen on a 2560x1440 iMac (Sierra, 27 inch, late 2009)

Hi,

I'm watching on a 27" iMac at 2560x1440. If I make the window bigger than about 2050 pixels in width the picture distorts horribly - completely unwatchable.

I've tried it on a separate desktop - no difference.

It's an old Mac, late 2009, but running OS/X Sierra. Details below.

It looks OK at 2128x1197, but broken at 2240x1260.

Hello,

I have the exact same problem (on the same type of imac, late 2009, Sierra). I'd be very interested in the resolution if you could let me know.  Incidentally, I also have the same issue with Sky Go Player if that helps to diagnose.

Thank you

I have exactly the same issue.  It doesn't seem to be able to scale correctly in fullscreen mode.  The horizontal axis seems to be really stretched.

Is there a fix? This seems like a bug in the player.

Any solution to this, yet?  I have the exact same problem when trying to watch Sky Go Player full screen on a 27inch iMac.  Pop-up window plays fine, but when I try to make picture full screen, it stretches really badly on the horizontal axis, making it unwatchable.

There was never a problem watching Sky full screen on the iMac before they introduced the Sky Go Player app.

Would be very grateful for any advice on how to fix this.

Hi I have now escalated this backoffice to be looked into for you guys, we will provide updates here once we get a resolve.

It seems the work around is to drop your screen resolution to 1920 × 1080.  Not the best, but it works.  As noted previously, this would indicate a scaling problem.
