Here's another thread, where both threads seem to be Windows PC, so not sure if it is also Mac relevant because I have never owned a Mac.

Where it seems like you are sorted by syncing the time.

There used to be a lot of reports on the Sony Community of people saying the only app they could get on was Netflix; and this was traced to Sony incorrectly handling the clock.

it turned out that this could be fixed by setting the TV to use Network Time; and Netflix was the only streaming app that didn’t care what your clock was set to.

This sounds like exactly the same issue, albeit with a different reason for the clock being wrong.

But all these apps just refused to work, and wouldn’t say anything useful, like ‘Our clocks don't agree’ 😢

Set a Payment PIN on your account so that no-one but you can buy memberships on it. Check your bank accounts monthly for any other unexpected payments to Now. That way you can at least nip them in the bud, while you and Now figure out whose fault they are.
