Now app overheating MacBook Air with MacOS Monterey 12.01

Since installing the new update for Monterey 12.01 on my 1-year-old MacBook Air the fan starts blasting as soon as I start watching anything on the Now app. I tried to deinstall and reinstall the player but it didn't change anything. I don't have this issue with Netflix, Amazon Prime, and Mubi so I'm very confused!! The fan is getting so loud it's impossible to watch a show. I'm considering canceling my subscription if I can't fix it. Does anyone have the same problem? Any solutions?
