Monthly device limit reached

Well this is annoying enought to cancel a subscription...

I signed up on my laptop. Watched first film on iPad. All good.

Then using media PC on TV wanted to watch a film but needed to remove laptop from devices. Not really an issue but annoying all the same. Oh, and quality of stream was worse than NetFlix and LoveFilm, but put up with it. Like watching a pirate move from the 90's 🙂

Hotle tonight. Can I watch on the iMac in the room? No. Just a black screen. Same happened on media PC so assume it is the device limit. Remove iPad from device list. Still doesn't work. OK, I've got my iPad with me. Goes to watch film..."You have already used up your monthly allowance for adding new devices on your NOW TV account" Useless.

I wanted to like NOW TV as LoveFilm and NetFlix have such crap streaming selections - but they at leat work. I've had zero technical issues on a number of deivces with those services. Why can't this be just as easy?

Dear Glenda,

as you can see in the previous post, you can only make one device change per month. It looks as though you have done this and so you can add a new device as this will be another change.

Please do let me know if you have any further questions.

Hi.

The Now TV player claims that I've registered the maximum amount of devices, even though this is the same laptop I'd already been watching on, so it should already be counted as a device, and there is one device slot free.

Any help with this would be appreciated.

Hi @Anonymous User,

It sounds as though your device limit count requires refreshing. Which can be performed by contacting a NOW TV representative.

You can contact a NOW TV representative via the forums 'Live Chat' facility or 'Send us a message' facility by using a Windows or Mac computer, not a mobile device, as their web browsers are not sophisticated enough to display 'pop-up' windows (ie: windows within windows). Also, Mac or IOS device users will require JavaScript support enabled in their Safari internet browsers. Here's what you need to do: -

  • Click on the following: How To Contact NOW TV link.
  • To 'Send us a message', click on the light blue 'Send Message' button.
  • To start a 'Live Chat', click on the dark blue 'Chat online' button.
  • A new 'What can we help you with today?' pop-up window should open up.
  • Click on the 'Request Chat' button.

Cheers

Guys

First let me says this, I do not use the NowTV app on my PC or on a laptop and so have no personal knowledge of the following:

Now, I understand that when a laptop, and may be a PC also, receives an update the NowTV system may see it as a separate additional device, so your single computer may be seen as two or more individual devices even though it's still only one.

Considering what's been happening to computers all over the world recently, I can imagine that computer software makers have been pushing out security updates as a matter of urgency. So it may be possible that when your machine get these updates the NowTV system could be reacting by adding additional devices to your account.

However, this is just a "guess" on my part.

Hi @ukbobboy,

According to the NOW TV Service Status area of the forum, there's currently a problem with the 'device registering' system.

For more information, see here: Issue watching NOW TV following a device change 29-5-2017

I just bought a Monthly Sports pass to go with my Entertainment pass. I downloaded the Now TV player, but was told I couldn't use it on this device as the limit had been met. This was strange as I had used NOW TV on the same computer many times before. I have not removed the device previously.

I have not used Now TV for nearly 12 months, but am now being told I have to wait a month to be able to change a device, which means I will not be able to actually use the monthly pass I bought.

Sounds like you have reached your maximum devices (4 devices per an account).

If you haven't made any changes this month, then with your internet browser go to My Account and on the drop down menu select Manage Devices where you will need to remove one of the four devices on the list, then start playing some nowtv content on your new nowtv box and it should auto add to your device list.

If you are still struggling then your best option might be to jump over to Live Chat.

I have used Now Tv on & off for a few years now, but have had the same problem ....

The amount of devices (4) is way too small nowadays, I have 7 devices in just one room that could use Now Tv app.

I have seen numerous people asking for the limit to be raised, but so far you havent listened to any of us.

I now have other streaming services that i'm using because of the lack of devices i can use, eg Amazon & Netflix which allows alot more devices.

It may seem trivial to some, but its very limiting for something thats suppose to be easy to use.
