Every time I try to stream anything on my laptop on the Now TV player it gives me the error code f20000
Searched everywhere on this forum and can't find any info. What should i do to fix the issue?
Thank you in advance

I've just had the same problem, Cisco core dumping on a SIGBUS error. I used dtrace to identify the problem and seemed to have fixed it (for me at least). It seems Cisco creates/uses a '.cisco' directory in your $HOME directory. I removed it and the player works fine now 🙂 Hopefully this might be of some use to other people.

Louis,
I renamed the .cisco folder to .zz_cisco and restarted everything.
Same issue.
Thanks for sharing though.

Hi Matt,
Please set up your Mac on OpenDNS (https://www.howtogeek.com/howto/38793/how-to-switch-mac-os-x-to-use-opendns-or-google-dns/ )
You can get your OLD DNS back by checking your ISP DNS on https://www.whatsmydns.net/dns/uk
Set DNS to open DNS worked
Primary: 208.67.222.222
Secondary: 208.67.220.220

Hi there,
I'm trying to watch NowTV on my Mac (running Mac OS 10.12.5). I've tried the following so far tonight:
* Using Safari, and clicking a link to watch a programme (result: f20000 error)
* Closing the NowTVPlayer, and clicking the link again (result: f20000 error)
* Closing the NowTVPlayer, logging out and logging back in, then clicking the link (result: f20000 error)
* Running Firefox, clicking the link to watch the programme in that (result: f20000 error)
* Closing the NowTVPlayer, and clicking the link in Firefox again (result: f20000 error)
* Closing the NowTVPlayer, logging out and back in, then clicking the link in Firefox (result: f20000 error)
* Installing the old v5.1 of Firefox, clicking the link in that to watch the programme (result: f20000 error)
* Changing the DNS on my connection to use OpenDNS (result: f20000 error)
* And GoogleDNS (result: f20000 error)
* Reinstalling the NowTVPlayer software (worked)
All I want to do is watch the programmes that I've paid my money to view. Why is it that every time I want to do so on my laptop instead of on my smartphone or television, I have to negotiate so many ridiculous hoops?
I have the CiscoVideoGuardMonitor process running - and it automatically reopens everytime I kill the process. I note from a recent thread on Slashdot (https://it.slashdot.org/story/17/06/20/1526259/cisco-subdomain-private-key-found-in-embedded-executa..., referencing this Google groups discussion - https://groups.google.com/forum/#!topic/mozilla.dev.security.policy/T6emeoE-lCU) that this application contained a private key, which has been revoked - I wonder if this is related to the fact that I was unable to watch anything until I reinstalled the NowTV software.
Is there any danger of Sky moving to an alternative platform for delivery of streaming video, as this replacement for Silverlight seems... pretty shoddy.

I am also getting the f20000 error code every time I try to use the NowTV player at my home. I'm using a MacBook Air running OS 10.11.6, and have tried both Safari and Firefox browsers. I've installed and uninstalled the player several times but no joy. I'm not willing to try the out of date version of Firefox, that seems sub optimal from a security perspective, and from what others have said I'm not confident it will solve this issue.
Silverlight was working perfectly until a couple of weeks ago - it appears that NowTV have since made a change their end which now forces a default to the NowTV player and invalidates Silverlight. The guy I spoke to using the online chat basically admitted this. Interestingly, the NowTV player works fine on the same machine while I'm at work, so it does appear this is some sort of network configuration conflict issue. I'm not a technical person so don't feel comfortable mucking about with the nuts and bolts of my network set up, I just want the player to work!
An added frustration is the fact that there's no way to know if the issue has been fixed without paying for a pass, and then I have to pester NowTV for a refund when I can't use it. It would be really helpful if the NowTV online help could at least acknowledge there's a problem, and find a way of communicating with affected customers to implement a fix. I'm not even clear whether or not they're actually working on this - based on their online 'help' they appear to be in denial. The least they could do is re-enable Silverlight so that those of us who still have that installed can use it until such time as they have a fit-for-purpose player.

Ran into the same issues trying to watch Sky Sports from my macbook pro. Have Now TV Player App installed and have silverlight installed and set the plugin to on and allow but can't play any content.
Now TV should refund customers.

Previously this Spring, I just kept using Silverlight in Safari on Mac. It worked up through maybe three weeks ago.
Am I correct that now that is not an option and on a Mac you must use the app? The app is not acceptable as if is not smooth. The sliverlight was perfect, closer to live TV too, less delay, but most of all, smooth and consistent. I had been using it for two years!
I would suggest the team immediately give those of us that still have silverlight installed, an option to use that again until you fix this awful Mac app.
Could someone confirm I am not missing something and there is a way to go back to silverlight? I have uninstalled the special app, but it still does not default to silverlight.
And has anyone tried the Sky Go stand alone service (35 pounds per month I think)? Years ago before Now TV, I would use that and it used Flash for the video. Does it work any better than Now TV after this Now TV app change?
Thanks.

I believe they made a change a few weeks back to force you to use the NowTV player even if you have Silverlight installed. I'm also really unhappy about this as I'm unable to get the NowTV player to work on my Mac at all (f20000 error), whereas Silverlight always worked fine.
